Southwestern Public Health Expands Vaccine Eligibility Requirements

Southwestern Public Health has expanded it's COVID-19 vaccine eligibility requirements to include Indigenous adults over 16-years-old and faith leaders who may have an increased risk of exposure.

OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health has expanded it's eligibility requirements for the COVID-19 vaccine once again.

Indigenous adults 16 and over can now get the shot. Faith leaders can also book a vaccination appointment but only if they come into close contact with others under the following circumstances;

- End of life care
- Care of the deceased, funerals, bathing, or other ceremony with direct contact with deceased persons
- Home visits to unwell persons
- Pastoral care in hospitals, Long-Term Care Homes, Retirement Homes, or other vulnerable settings

Southwestern Public Health also expanded the age requirement to those between the ages of 75 and 79 earlier this week.

You can find a full list of all the eligibility requirements online here.
