The Oxford County Speaker Series continues with a presentation about the pioneers that helped shape the County.
OXFORD COUNTY - Another installment of the Speaker Series is on its way.
On October 4th, from 2 to 3 p.m. the Oxford County Library Ingersoll Branch will host the segment called Oxford Pioneers. Digital Literacy and Local History Technician with Oxford County Library, Matthew Griffiths shares the details.
"And it's a presentation from Scott Gillies, who's a well-known historian in the region. And Scott will discuss Oxford's settlements, some of its founding families and their descendants, but most particularly the pioneers who, as Scott describes it, helped put Oxford County on the world map."
This event is part of the Local History Speaker Series, co-organized by the Oxford County Library and the Oxford County Archives. Presentations in the series focus on topics related to the history of Oxford County and its broader region. Griffiths says there are a few ways to listen.
"And if you'd like to attend, just go to the library. There's no pre-registration required, just drop in. However, we also have a live Zoom stream. We'll have that set up and to enjoy the program remotely, get to pre-register for that."
You can register on the Oxford County Library website.
