Woodstock City Council has approved a budget that will provide the Downtown Woodstock BIA with more funds for beautification and special events.
WOODSTOCK - Changes are coming to the Downtown Woodstock BIA, just in time for the warm weather.
During last night's meeting council approved a budget that will give the BIA more money for summer events.
Downtown Development Officer Kerry Jarvi says they have also been approved for a large fund for beautification in the downtown core.
"Special events and beautification are quite significant. It will allow us to bring a lot more activations and big events back."
They will also be renewing the pop-up patio program for businesses downtown. Jarvi says when the program ended last year they knew they wanted the program to be permanent.
"It ended in 2022. So it was making the program permanent so that we still have a vibrant sea of an on-street parking space, converted to a patio in the summertime."
Jarvi says that the BIA is looking at hosting a spring festival ahead of StreetFest.
