The first stagers will perform Music Man Kids and the second stagers will perform Alice @ Wonderland.
WOODSTOCK - It's the latest double feature from the STAGES program at Theatre Woodstock.
The first and second stagers will perform Music Man Kids and Alice @ Wonderland this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Each show will begin with Music Man Kids, performing by the younger actors known as first stagers. Maeve McGinnis, who plays Ms. Paroo in the show, says it's about a travelling salesman who visits River City, Iowa and tries to swindle from cash.
"He wants to get more money, so he tries to start a band but he doesn't know how to direct a band. Everybody figures out that he's just trying to scam them so they want him to leave."
An intermission will take place after the performance and the older kids known as second stagers will hit the stage with Alice @ Wonderland afterward. Riley Beveridge is a member of the ensemble, and he says this show is a modern twist on the classic tale complete with cellphones and social media.
"Basically she is obsessed with her phone. She gets lost in Wonderland and she's trying to find the garden and she meets all sorts of creatures along the way."
The double feature will hit the stage four times this weekend. Tickets cost $15 each and they can be purchased online here or at the box office.
Maeve McGinnis and Riley Beverage stopped by the Heart FM studio with Naomi McGinnis and Evelyn Taylor on Monday June 8th. You can listen to the full interview below:
