The GRCA has issued a flood watch for the entire watershed and the UTRCA is telling residents to stay clear of all bodies of water right now.
The Grand River Conservation Authority has issued a flood watch for the entire watershed.
A flood warning remains in place for Grand River (Haldimand County): Ouse Street in Cayuga, due to a significant ice jam in the area.
A new weather system is calling for 10-15 mm of rain before Wednesday morning.
The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority has not had to issue a flood watch or warning at this time. They are advising people to stay away from all water bodies during the current spring melt.
Any ice cover is weakened and unstable, and flood control reservoirs are especially hazardous due to fluctuating water levels. Smaller rural watercourses may have been drifted in by snow, which can hide potentially hazardous conditions. Banks adjacent to rivers and creeks are very slippery and, when combined with cold, fast-moving water, pose a serious hazard. Parents are reminded to keep children and pets away from all watercourses and off of frozen water bodies.
