Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ingersoll, Tillsonburg, & Area are getting ready for their biggest fundraiser of the year.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ingersoll, Tillsonburg, and Area are hoping to raise $40,000 at their annual Bowl for Kids Sake this year.
A few spots are still left if you want to sign up for the events happening on April 29th and 30th in Tillsonburg and in Ingersoll on May 5th, 6th, and 7th. Resource Coordinator Heather Breckleman tells Heart FM the Mardi Gras theme is represented by three colours: Green, Purple, and Gold.
"So gold represents power and in our case we consider that the power to impact lives of our community members here. Green represents faith and we feel that is about the faith of members of our community to have faith in each other. And purple represents justice and in our case we look at that as it represents justice for our kids."
All of the money raised will go towards supporting the programs offered locally by Big Brothers Big Sisters. Breckleman says they are encouraging everyone to dress up and really just have a great time.
"The fun parts about having a theme at an event like this and certain teams will go all out and we will have prizes for the best dressed team and individuals. The colours of Mardi Gras they may have symbolism but they also are masquerade theme and parade and that sort of lavish party look that goes with it."
