Perth OPP recovered a stolen truck and a stolen ATV after arresting two men who fled from police.
Perth County OPP were able to recover a couple of stolen vehicles after making two arrests.
On Tuesday police were called by an alert citizen who spotted a stolen pickup truck near Kinkora. Police responded and found the stolen truck in the area of Bornholm. OPP approached a man who fled the scene. They caught up with him after a quick foot chase.
22 year old Joseph Cluett of North Perth was arrested and is facing the following charges:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Flight while being pursued by peace officer
- Mischief - destroys or damages property
- Break and enter
- Possession of a schedule I substance
- Driving while ability impaired by drug
- Fail to comply with probation
- Driving while under suspension
The second arrest happened after police spotted a man driving a stolen blue ATV. The man tried to flee from police on the ATV. They eventually caught him after setting up a containment in the area of 49th Line and Highway 23. He was eventually caught on foot by officers in an area near the 49th line.
19 year old William COX of Stratford was arrested and is facing the following charges:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of a schedule I substance
- Break and enter
- Possession of a prohibited weapon
- Failing to comply with recognizance
- Driving while under suspension
Police recovered a previously stolen 2006 Grey Chevrolet Silverado and a 2008 Blue Polaris ATV.
