Warm airmass coupled with an approaching disturbance could lead to some severe weather Tuesday afternoon.
OXFORD COUNTY -- We could see some active weather this afternoon.
Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement warning of the potential for severe thunderstorms later today.
The weather agency says a fairly potent disturbance is approaching Southern Ontario from the west.
Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 20s to lower 30s this afternoon with humidex values pushing into the mid to high 30s.
As the disturbance gets closer, showers and thunderstorms will move into Southern Ontario bringing with it the potential for heavy downpours, large hail, frequent lightning and gusty winds.
Watches and warnings will be issued as required later today as this event draws closer.
