Crown attorney in Bosma murder case applies for direct indictment
HAMILTON - Those accused of killing Tim Bosma could be going straight to trial.
According to the Hamilton Spectator, the Crown Attorneys in the case have applied for a direct indictment, which is very rare and usually only happens when the Crown believes they have a very strong case.
28 year old Dellen Millard and 26 year old Mark Smich are both charged with the first degree murder of Bosma, who went missing in May of 2013 after taking someone on a test drive of his truck.
At this point, an eight week preliminary hearing is scheduled for September. If a direct indictment were approved, the preliminary hearing would not go forward preventing witnesses from testifying twice.
