It was a busy weekend in Stratford with police issuing a number of charges involving alcohol and theft.
STRATFORD - It was a busy summer weekend for Stratford Police as they made arrests for a variety of charges.
Two arrests were made after a string of minor thefts from local businesses over the weekend. At this time police don't think the incidents are related.
Four people were also cuffed for breaching their court imposed orders. And several people spent the night in the drunk tank sobering up after being charged with public intoxication.
On Friday night at 10:45 p.m. a vehicle driven by a 32 year old woman from Stratford was stopped for speeding. When an officer spoke with her they were able to smell alcohol on her breath. After investigating further they determined she was impaired and impounded her car for 7 days, suspending her license for 90 days.
Stratford Police also got a call from Six Nation Police over the weekend after they found a 2009 Honda Civic stolen from Stratford on June 4th. The vehicle was found in Oshweken burned beyond recognition. It was identified by the plates.
