250 students already placed in Woodstock
WOODSTOCK - More than 400 local students have already signed up for summer jobs through the Woodstock Employment Centre.
Of those, 250 have already been placed.
Student Centre Coordinator Kelsey Vandeven says there are jobs for all interests.
"We have customer service, landscaping jobs, farm work, general labour, there's day camps, just a little bit of everything."
Vandeven says for the most part, there is a job available to suit any schedule.
"Sometimes people are looking for just weekend work or sometimes they want Monday to Friday, sometimes they want 6 days a week, there's tonnes of flexibility. It depends kind of what the students want and what they are looking for. We fit the job to the students, not the students to the job."
Vandeven says even if you have never had a job before, the Employment Centre offers a lot of services to students including resume and cover letter writing.
"We can go through the interview process. We get students who come in and they are not really sure how the interview process has gone or they are kind of nervous about it so we kind of help them. We prepare some questions for them and we also offer a wide variety of workshops."
She says the workshops include topics like money handling, Smart Serve and Food handling.
