Summer Heat Wave Continues

Meteorologist Gerald Chang says the heat wave will continue today and tomorrow before a cold front moves in Thursday night.

OXFORD COUNTY - We are experiencing quite the heat wave in Oxford County.

Environment Canada has issued heat warnings across the region, but Meteorologist Gerald Chang says there is an end in sight.

"While the heat warning is still staying put pretty much for today and tomorrow and as we head into Thursday with the passage of a cold front, we will see that heat warning maybe drop Thursday night."

Chang says the length of the heat wave is out of the ordinary.

"We haven't really broken a lot of records. If you take a look for example at the major cities; Ottawa broke a record on Monday and Toronto broke a record on Saturday. It wasn't really the heat that was intense it was really the duration of the heat is what's sticking out."

Make sure you stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and reduce physical activity during the hottest points of the day.
