You can get your haircut and support a great cause later this month. Everyone is invited to get their haircut at Hairpower in Downtown Woodstock on Sunday November 24th.
WOODSTOCK - Hair Power is teaming up with a local prostate cancer survivor to cut hair for cancer.
All of the proceeds from haircuts on Sunday November 24th will be going to the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre Foundation. Jim Gallup says he first approached the idea for a fundraiser to the owners of Hairpower and they were happy to help.
"We are going to cut hair, Frank is the owner of Hairpower and he is going to cut hair and charge $25 for a haircut and all of that money goes to the prostate research at the Juravinski Clinic in Hamilton. I am a cancer survivor and I have hit the 5 1/2 year mark, so I am pleased with that."
Gallup says he is thrilled that Hairpower agreed to do this fundraiser with him.
"I talked to Frank about fundraising for the cancer research. I wanted to give back to the Juravinski Clinic and what they did for me. I'm alive, I'm seeing my grandchildren grow up, they were really good at the clinic for my treatments."
The haircuts cost $25 and no appointment is needed on the 24th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
