The two people in the horse and buggy sustained non-life threatening injuries, while the horse and the driver of the SUV were not hurt.
NORWICH TOWNSHIP - The Oxford OPP is investigating a crash involving an SUV and a horse and buggy in Norwich Township.
It happened on Norwich Road shortly before 10:00 a.m. yesterday, somewhere between Oxford Road 13 and Middletown Line.
Police say the operator of the horse and buggy was airlifted to London, while the passenger in the horse and buggy and the driver of the SUV were both taken to local hospital.
In a video posted on the OPP West Region X page,Sergeant Ed Sanchuk provided this update shortly before 4:00 p.m., around the same time the crash site reopened to the public.
"I have just been informed that the operator and the passenger in that buggy both received non-life threatening injuries, which is the best news I can deliver all day. The horse involved was also not injured and the driver was the SUV was also not injured, which is great news all around."
He adds anyone with information regarding this crash should call the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
"For any members of the public that may have been travelling that may have dash camera footage that captured this incident, you're being urged to contact investigators. We're also asking residents that live in the area to check their video surviellence system to see if they captured this incident, the horse and buggy, or the vehicle involved."
