OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health Unit confirmed 71 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend and 65 resolved cases.
SWPH also confirmed the 96th COVID-19 related death in our region. The deceased is a man in his 80's from Elgin County.
Local Medical Officer of Health Dr. Joyce Lock is expected to announce new COVID-19 restrictions for the region this week. The restrictions will include enhanced capacity limits.

The Health Unit says 87.2 percent of eligible residents have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 84.6 percent have been fully vaccinated.
