The province has approved $91.7 million in capital funding through the 2025-2026 Capital Priorities Program
TVDSB - The Thames Valley District School Board is going to build two new schools and expand two others.
It's going to spend $43.6 million to build a new St. Thomas Secondary School, which will have space for 703 students and include a child care centre with 88 licenced child care spaces.
It's also dedicating $22.2 million towards a new Talbotville Elementary School that's a partnership with Conseil Scolaire Viamonde. That school will have space for 412 students and include a three room child care centre with 49 licenced child care spaces.
In terms of expansions, Thames Valley is planning $19.1 million project for Parkview Public School in Komoka, which will add space for 225 new students. It will also retrofit the existing gym, library and some instructional and operational areas into a resource area and library.
Thames Valley is also giving the green light to a $6.8 million addition for West Nissouri Public School in Thorndale. It will add new operational areas and 207 new student spaces.
Director of Education Bill Tucker says the province has approved $91.7 million in capital funding through the 2025-2026 Capital Priorities Program to make all of this happen.
"This funding will help us address population shifts we’re seeing across Thames Valley District School Board. It will also help us provide the modern facilities that we need to deliver the best educational opportunities for students. We are grateful to the Ministry for their support, as well as our municipal and French first-language board partners for collaborating on these projects."
Today, I was joined by @RobFlackEML and @PinsonneaultLKM to announce 9 new and expanded schools in the London area.
