One of them was in Ingersoll and the other four were in St. Thomas.
INGERSOLL/ST. THOMAS - Southwestern Public Health is reporting five new potential measles exposures and one of them was in Oxford County.
It's warning people who were at the Ingersoll Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic between 1:45 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday February 5th.
If you were there and you were born in 1970 or later and you're not up-to-date with your vaccinations, you should call the health unit right away at 1-800-922-0096 with extension 1232.
The other potential exposures were in St. Thomas and you can find the dates, times and locations below:
- St. Thomas Walk-In Clinic (230 First Ave) on Saturday February 8th from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- The Emergency Department of St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Thursday February 6th from 11:19 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Friday February 7th.
- The Emergency Department of St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday February 9th from 5:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Measles is highly contagious and it can linger in the air for up to two hours. It can cause diarrhea, ear infections, pneumonia, and even deadly brain infections in rare cases.
