With the Royal Reno's nearing completion at Tavistock's Queen Park, the town celebrated with an Open House Saturday. Live entertainment, sporting demonstrations, crafts, health & wellness along with a Farmers Market were all part of the days celebrations. Cooper and Ashley were visiting the new pavillion with their family and friends, and are excited to use the new facility in the future. "A new playground is going to be way better. Plus I like the sports inside, it is so awesome. And there's lots of stuff to do here". "There's like hockey, there's soccer, you can do basketball, you can do dancing. You can do tons of stuff". The new playground is slated for construction this fall. Tavistock resident, Michelle says she is extremely pleased with the final product. "I think it's absolutely fantastic. We've been waiting a long time for this to open, and it looks terrific. There's so many people here already, things for old and for young and everyone can participate. It's going to be terrific". The Royal Reno project, once complete, will have cost roughly $1.1 million.
