Team Canada finished the Beijing Winter Olympics with 26 medals; four gold, eight silver and 14 bronze. We ranked fourth overall for the most medals.
BEIJING - The Beijing Olympics officially wrapped up over the weekend.
We won two more medals leading up to the closing ceremonies on Sunday. Ivanie Blondin won silver in the women's long track speed skating mass start early Saturday morning. Justin Kripps, Ryan Sommer, Cam Stones and Ben Coakwell won bronze in the four-man bobsleigh event later that evening.
This pushed Team Canada's final medal count to 26; four gold, eight silver and 14 bronze.
We ranked fourth overall for the most medals. Norway won the most with 37, followed by the Russian Olympic Committee with 32 and Germany with 27.
Isabelle Weidemann was the flag bearer for Team Canada during the closing ceremonies on Sunday. The speedskater won three medals in Beijing; a gold in the women's long-track team pursuit competition, a silver in the women's 5,000 metre individual event and a bronze in the women's 3,000 metre individual event.
