An 18-year-old is facing charges of impaired driving, and failing to remain at the scene, after a crash on Van. Ave. early this morning. It happened just after midnight on Vansittart near Buller St. Woodstock Police say an Oldsmobile drifted onto the right shoulder of the roadway, striking a Ford Edge parked on the side of the street. The impact caused the Edge to hit a pick-up infront of it. The person at the wheel allegedly tried to flee the scene, but was confronted by a person that saw the crash. There was a brief altercation between the two, with the suspect getting away, into the backyard of a home on Delatre St. Police brought out the canine unit and tracked the suspect in the area. 18-year-old Braden Swiech of Woodstock was arrested and charged.
