Calling all young photographers! The Oxford County Library is offering their Teen Photography Contest once again.
OXFORD COUNTY - The 3rd annual Teen Photography Contest has begun at the Oxford County Library.
Librarian Megan Berry says they have awesome prizes up for grabs this year.
"The grand prize winner wins $250 and we also have cash prizes for 2nd and 3rd place. We also have prizes for each category winner as well. So there are a lot of cash prizes and it's going to be a really fun contest this year."
The contest includes four different categories. Berry says they are encouraging young photographers to get out in their community with the newest addition.
"So what we are looking for in that category is for the teens to find a photo from their community; could be maybe a historic photo of downtown, or a building or even people, and we'd like them to take an updated version of that photo, maybe even in very similar spot or location."
Youth between the ages of 12 and 18 can enter as long as they have a library card. Those interested can e-mail their library card number to Berry at mberry@ocl.net.
You can enter only one photo per category and the deadline is August 16th at 5 p.m.
