STRATFORD - Three teens have been arrested after a break and enter in Stratford.
Police say the homeowner contacted officers when he noticed the boys in his back yard yesterday. The teens were located a short while later on White Street. One of the boys tried to escape on foot and was arrested after a quick pursuit. The other two were arrested with no issues.
The kids are only 14 years old and all three were charged with Break and Enter. The teen who tried to escape was also charged with Possession of Break and Enter Tools, Escape Lawful Custody and Resist Arrest.
All three males were later released into the care of their parents and were given a court date of April 4, 2019.
The Stratford Police would like to commend the actions of the witness in this matter. It is only due to the witness’s alert observations, and descriptions provided, that police were able to locate and arrest the three young males involved. The Stratford Police would like to encourage all residents to keep an eye on their neighbour’s property and report all suspicious activity to the police.
