High School sports could be back in the new year, under the guidance of volunteer coaches. It's a plan the Thames Valley District School Board is looking into. They're conducting a survey of potential "Coach Liason's" - retired or teachers not under contract - but those in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers. Enough of those would be needed to supplement volunteer coaches. People interested in volunteer coaching need to contact the school Principal and go through an application process. That's a plan under development, should job action against extra-curricular activities by high school teachers continue into the New Year. High school sports were put on hiatus December 10th.
