A local man is $2 million dollars richer after winning ONTARIO 49.
THAMESFORD - A man from Thamesford is the newest millionaire in Oxford County.
Patrick O'Connor won $2 million dollars from the April 9th Ontario 49 draw. O'Connor purchased his winning ticket at the Thamesford Variety store on Dundas Street. He explains his reaction when he heard the news.
"I told my wife, ‘You better sit down. I think I just won $2 million." She said, "Yeah, right!"
O'Connor is a retired husband, father and grandfather of two. He was happy to share the good news with his daughters.
"One of my daughters just bought a house in Stratford. I said, I have good news. I can pay for your kitchen cupboards."
He says his has big plans for the money and will use a lot of the money to make sure his grand kids don't have to worry about paying for school.
