Over 70 local businesses have collaborated on an contest that will see over $5000 in prizing given away. The owner of The Kynd Beauty Spa wanted to create a fun way to showcase the incredible businesses in Oxford County.
OXFORD COUNTY - A local beauty spa is staying true to their name these days.
The Kynd Beauty Spa has organized an Instagram contest called "The Heart of Oxford", it's a giveaway that involves over 70 local businesses as partners.
The initiative was organized by the spa's owner Kirsten Young.
"I am a Woodstonian, born and raised and my goal was to spread the love and celebrate our community by showcasing some of the incredible businesses that are right here in Oxford County."
Five lucky winners will receive special gifts from local business, valued at $1000 each, with a total value of $5000.
In order to qualify, participants need to follow all 70 businesses that are tagged in an Instagram Post on The Kynd Beauty Spa's page and comment on the main post. Those that qualify will be in a random draw. The post goes up May 1st at 9 a.m.
Young says that now, more than ever we should support the many amazing local businesses right here in Oxford County.
"Coronavirus aside, it is a good opportunity to showcase what we have in our community. I think with all that is going on though, people are realizing the value of local home grown businesses and the impact they have on the local economy."
The contest closes on May 6th.
