Soupstock will be taking place at Goff Gym on Thursday March 28th in support of DASO.
WOODSTOCK - Soupstock is making a comeback this year!
It has been seven years since the last event took place, but Soupstock will takeover Goff Gym on Thursday March 28th this year with all of the proceeds supporting Domestic Abuse Services Oxford (DASO).
Fundraising Coordinator Megan Porter says tickets cost $20 in advance, or $25 at the door.
"Once you buy a ticket you come to see us at Goff Gym at one of our two sittings, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. or from 12:45 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., and you sample any of the soups in the room that you would like to. There will be at least 10 soups that people will have to try when they come and visit us at Goff Gym that day."
The list of participating restaurants includes Sixthirtynine, Ironworks, Finkle Street Tap & Grill, Whisk & Roll Bakery, the Soulful Spoon, Boston Pizza, Local Roots, and more.
An panel of judges will also try all of the soups and determine the winner of the Golden Ladle.
Porter says DASO is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
"Through volunteers and some government funding, we have supported women who are trying to remove themselves from a gender based violence situation and intimate partner violence situation and get them to safety. So we do have a residential shelter as well as significant outreach services."

Megan Porter stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Tuesday March 12th. You can listen to the full interview below:
