After planting over 2,500 trees, Lisa and Gord Ross have been awarded the 2024 Oxford Stewardship Award
OXFORD COUNTY - Lisa and Gord Ross have been awarded the 2024 Oxford Stewardship Award.
The Ross’s have been a part of several stewardship projects in the last 13 years and have made tremendous efforts towards land stewardship at their South-West Oxford property.
Oxford County Warden, Marcus Ryan, presented the award to the Ross’s after they planted over 2,500 trees and created a woodlot on a 1.3-acre section of land.
The trees create windbreaks along the north and western boundaries, the woodlot links the two windbreaks and creates a continuous wildlife path.
The Ross’s will be honoured for the Stewardship Award by being added to the recognition wall at the Oxford County Administration Building. They will also receive a $500 gift certificate to purchase original artwork commissioned from an Oxford County artist, or an experience at a local destination featured through Tour Oxford.
There were three finalists for the Stewardship Award, including Joe and Susan Hampson of Norwich Township, and Debbra and Gord Eddy, of East-Zorra Tavistock.
