An upcoming show at Theatre Woodstock will encourage everyone to get on their feet and start dancing.
WOODSTOCK - Local dancers will be hitting the Theatre Woodstock stage for Let's Dance Canada.
Judith Fleming, the owner of Lilybear Dance Boutique, explains how this all began.
"I was at a conference in February with the Dancewear Association of Canada and one of the conversations was how can we bring dance back into the forefront and get people dancing. So the association board and membership created a national week across Canada for dancers to participate and do different activities either at their studio or in our case, a community dance show."
The show on Wednesday November 15th will feature dancers from local studios showcasing their abilities in a variety of styles including tap, jazz, ballet, ballroom, highland, and bhangra. The dancers will be of all ages, with some as young as five years old.
Sarah Hogkinson, the Marking and Communications Coordinator for Theatre Woodstock, says it will be easy for members of the audience to get on their feet and take up dancing themselves.
"We're definitely looking forward to an awesome night. In our downstairs lobby, there is going to be information about all of these dance options in town, how you can sign up at different studios, and how you can get involved."
The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 7:00 p.m. Tickets cost $15 each and they can be purchased on the Theatre Woodstock website.
Judith Fleming and Sarah Hogkinson stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Tuesday November 7th. You can listen to the full interview below:
