TikTok Star Raises Thousands of Dollars for Woodstock Family

Celina Myers, also known as CelinaSpookyBoo, was able to raise over $28,000 for a local family in need.

WOODSTOCK - Christmas will be a little brighter for a local family this year thanks to Woodstock's very own TikTok star.

Celina Myers, also known as CelinaSpookyBoo, posted on social media on Tuesday December 12th to announce that she created a GoFundMe page to help someone in her community who really needed it. She didn't provide a lot of details in order to keep it a secret from that special someone, but she posted a link to the GoFundMe on her profile so anyone could donate. She has 28 million followers from around the world.

In another video posted on Monday December 18th, she announced that the page was able to raise over $28,000 thanks to the support of over 1,200 donors. Myers also revealed that she used the money to help Heather Hillsdon, also known as Happy Heather. Hillsdon is a cancer survivor, an active volunteer, and she is also living in temporary housing with her three children. She also dresses up as a clown and attends community events to make kids smile.

Myers used the money from the GoFundMe page to buy Hillsdon a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan.

"She needed a van because she does have three kids and she is also involved in a lot of other kids' lives. So not only were we able to get her that van and surprise her, but we were also able to give her some cash to make Christmas a little bit smoother this year."

The van was presented to Hillsdon on Thursday December 14th. Hillsdon posted a video on her own Facebook page the next day, thanking everyone who donated.

"Thank you to everybody who helped me or helped Celina make this dream come true because I'm still sitting here thinking it's a dream. I think I have to pinch myself!"

She provided a little bit of background information as to how this all came about. Hillsdon stated that her friend Debbie Walters created a GoFundMe page when her previous van broke down. Hillsdon shared the GoFundMe page on her Facebook page, and her friend's daughter then shared it to her Facebook page and that's when Myers found it.

Hillsdon also stated that singer-songwriter Jewel was one of the 1,200 people who donated to the page.

Myers had this message to share to those who donated to the cause.

"I think you really helped change somebody's life for the better. It meant a lot to me that you trusted me to take your donations and do something amazing with it. I could tell by the look on Heather's face, that this was a Christmas miracle. So from me, thank you so much, and Merry Christmas."
