Tillsonburg and Ingersoll will be hosting their own Coldest Night of the Year fundraisers this year in support of United Way Oxford.
OXFORD COUNTY - United Way Oxford is gearing up for the Coldest Night of the Year.
This fundraiser started in Woodstock in support of Operation Sharing and will be expanding to other locations in Oxford County.
Both, Tillsonburg and Ingersoll will be hosting events to raise money for United Way Oxford, supporting people in the community who might be experiencing hunger, hurt, and homelessness. The funds will help support, enhance, and expand services including Light House Transition House, street outreach, housing stability programs, food security, and walk-in-counseling.
The Tillsonburg walk will begin and end at The Lions Auditorium in the Tillsonburg Community Centre and the Ingersoll walk begins and ends at the Fusion Youth Centre.
Participants will be able to walk a 2 km or 5 km route, with rest stops along the way that will have hot drinks to warm up. At the end of the walk, everyone will be able to celebrate with light snacks.
Adults who raise over $150 or youth who raise over $75 will be able to wear a CNOY toque while they face the coldest night.
Registration is now open for both events and you can visit the website for the Tillsonburg event, or click here for the Ingersoll event.
