A Tillsonburg couple have been recognized by the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters for their tireless youth education volunteerism.
PETERBOROUGH - A Tillsonburg couple are being honoured for their volunteer work with the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters.
Lynda and Dale Ouellette received the Larry Wallace Memorial Volunteer Award this past weekend at the OFAH Annual General Meeting.
Manager of Government Affairs and Policy Greg Farrant says the award goes to the person or persons who have helped to ensure the future of conservation by sharing their experience, knowledge and love of the outdoors with youth.
"We had a lot of nominees for this award and in the letter of recognition for them it said that they represent remarkable volunteers that continually give, yet are extremely humble when it comes to any form of recognition."
"The two of them have been long standing volunteers at our Get Outdoors Youth Leadership Camp which is held every year in conjunction with our annual conference but their real contribution has been to our Get Outdoors Summer Youth Camp that we run every summer. We have some adult volunteers who come up and volunteer for one or two camps, they are there for the duration, for all four camps."
Farrant says they are a great example for youth OFAH members and future members with their attitude of no questions asked, let's get it done.
