Mayor Deb Gilvesy says Tillsonburg's new bike patrol bylaw enforcement program will help citizens feel safe while using the town's recreational areas and amenities.
TILLSONBURG - Tillsonburg would like to introduce you to their new by-law bike patrol.
These officers have been rolling around with the assistance of iGO e-bikes to parks and various recreational amenities where they can offer assistance to the public, answer questions, listen to concerns, and provide an opportunity to connect with staff.
Bylaw Enforcement Supervisor Mark Russell says the program was first introduced in May.
"The program is as much about public education as much as it is enforcement. We want to help people understand what the municipality requires of them, and often the best way to do that is through face-to-face dialogue."
Each member of the unit wears high-visibility clothing and addresses issues such as animal control, responsible pet ownership, and even parking, and vandalism.
