Tillsonburg is losing their Animal Control Services provider. After under two years of service, Maple Oak Kennels wishes to end their contract with the town. The contractor has advised based on personal circumstances they can no longer provide this service to Tillsonburg. They haven't returned calls to Heart FM. The town's CAO David Samis says they didn't have any issues with their service. "Maple Oaks started in July 2011. They were able to serve us, they do other municipalities as well, it's fairly common for contractors to cover a large area. We did not have any issues, no one complained about their service." Around 100 dogs and 180 cats were picked up by Maple Oak in Tillsonburg last year. The town is now seeking proposals for Animal Control Services. Maple Oaks contract with the municipality will cease at the end of May.
