Tillsonburg Mayor Stephen Molnar encouraged residents to wear face coverings as we get set to enter stage 3 on Friday during his weekly Facebook Live address.
TILLSONBURG - Tillsonburg Mayor Stephen Molnar addressed the community through a Facebook video on Wednesday.
Molnar stressed the importance of wearing a mask when out in public.
"The easiest solution is to wear a mask. You wear a mask for the other person, for your loved one, for our neighbour for your community. The respect you have for your neighbour, our love one and your community. Understanding that if we all assumed we had the virus and we all wore a mask, the significant chance of transmission would be reduced dramatically."
Molnar said the town continues to receive numerous calls and emails to their dedication email address about concerns for those not wearing a mask.
"As we continue to move towards the review a made in Tillsonburg solution, for a mandatory mask protocol, please be assured that we are working diligently primarily with the education and recommendation of our public health professionals."
The mayor addressed Stage 3 and social gatherings, noting that indoor gatherings will go up to a maximum of 50 people and 100 outdoors.
"I hope you all that are showing leadership and respect, that you will take comfort knowing that the sacrifice you have been making and may still be asked to make again in the future, know that you are having an impact on our collective well being. You have been flattening the curve and indeed you have been saving lives."
