Tillsonburg Mayor Deb Gilvesy was happy to hear that a business from her hometown will be benefitting from the Ontario Regional Development Program.
TILLSONBURG - Armtec Inc. will be able to create new jobs in Tillsonburg, thanks to a $3 million cheque from the Ontario Regional Development Program.
The money will be going towards its new manufacturing facility which is 115,000 square feet and worth $27 million.
The announcement was made on Monday, with $11.4 million in funding being split amongst four Oxford County-based manufacturers; Vuteq Canada Inc., Trans-Mit Steel Inc., Armtec Inc., and MTO Metal Products Inc.
Mayor Deb Gilvesy says was happy to hear that some of the money is coming to Tillsonburg.
“This funding support has not only led to spin-off investment in our community, but will also result in 100 more local jobs to help manufacture drainage solutions for the transportation, agricultural and construction industries – not only locally, but across Canada."
CAO Kyle Pratt is also welcoming the announcement.
"Support from senior levels of government is important to bringing projects of this magnitude to fruition. This investment from Ontario’s Regional Development Program not only advances Tillsonburg’s strategic plan but also will have a long-lasting ripple effect on local and regional economies."
