TILLSONBURG - Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital is looking to fill a new position.
They want to hire a Health Care Professional Recruitment Coordinator, which will try and help attract physicians and other healthcare staff to the community. The position will see joint funding from TDMH and the Town, and the job will be used to develop, implement, and monitor the strategy and process used for recruitment.
Integrated President and CEO of TDMH and Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll, Nadia Facca is excited to welcome new healthcare professionals to the hospital.
"I am excited about the potential that this dedicated position has to increase our success rate in recruiting healthcare professionals to Tillsonburg, especially physicians."
Mayor Deb Gilvesy says physician recruitment is something that impacts the whole community.
"Town Council is continuing to work in collaboration with TDMH to increase access to quality health care within the Tillsonburg area, and this new position is a logical next step in our shared efforts to attract the talent needed to support our growing community."
There is a shortage of family doctors, and growth in Tillsonburg is making that issue more noticeable.
Deputy Mayor and chair of the Health Care Committee, Dave Beres says Tillsonburg is growing, and so is the need for healthcare professionals.
"Having a family doctor is a key factor when choosing an area to call home, and with such rapid growth here, it's essential that we work together with our local hospital to find a path forward."
