There's still time to vote for Toronto FC Community MVP Tim Jansen ahead of tomorrow's MLS All Star Game.
WOODSTOCK - The Toronto FC have selected a Woodstonian as their MLS Works Community MVP.
Tim Jansen has dedicated over 20 years to the Woodstock Soccer Club. He has been a referee, coach, player, volunteer, executive and is currently the Vice President.
Jansen also runs their All Accessibility Program, which takes place every Saturday morning.
"It's just an hour drop in program. Anyone can show up, anybody who wants to play soccer. I set up some drills, we kick it out and stuff and if there are enough people we'll try to play a game. It's all inclusive, anyone can come."
Members of the public can vote for their favourite Community MVP online here.
All of the candidates from each MLS team will be gathering in Atlanta tomorrow.
A winner will be selected to take home $25,000 for a charity of their choice. All of the other MVP's will receive a $1,000 for their cause. Jansen's winning will benefit the Woodstock Soccer Club.
The award presentation will be taking place during the half-time show of the All Star Game.
This is not a first for Jansen. He was also the Toronto FC Community MVP four years ago.
"They just did a presentation in Toronto, presented me with a jersey, a ball and I got $1,000 towards the club at the time. We used that to pretty much start our accessibility program."
