Max Domi, the son of legendary enforcer Tie Domi, has signed a one-year contract worth $3-million (US) with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

TORONTO - He is following in his father's footsteps.

Max Domi has signed a one-year contract worth $3-million (US) with the Toronto Maple Leafs. His father was legendary enforcer Tie Domi, who played for the Leafs from 1995 to 2006.

When the news broke yesterday, Max posted a picture of his father holding him while wearing a Leafs jersey of Instagram. He captained the picture "Home" with a blue heart emoji.

Max Domi is 28-years-old and he was born in Winnipeg. He started his NHL career with the Arizona Coyotes in 2015 and he has since played for the Montreal Canadiens, the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Chicago Blackhawks and the Dallas Stars. He also played for the London Knights in the OHL from 2011 to 2015.

The Maple Leafs also signed winger Tyler Bertuzzi to a one-year, $5.1-million (US) contract over the long weekend.
