INGERSOLL - The Town of Ingersoll approved two variance requests from residents to allow a third dog in their home.
Ingersoll's current by-law only allows for two dogs. Mayor Ted Comiskey says both requests were approved because of special circumstances.
"The only time that normally occurs is if somebody ends up with three dogs whether it's from relatives or friends and they end up with three dogs and they are family members and then what do you do at that point in time when family members pass away and pass them on. The Town has always been very receptive of that and usually the Town accepts that request with the understanding that they are not replaced when the animals pass on."
Comiskey did say they will ask staff at some point this year to take another look at the by-law.
