Even with the doors of Trillium in Norwich, employees are still waiting for compensation.
NORWICH - A fight is still on as former employees of Trillium in Norwich battle for compensation.
Cheryl was an employee of the facility and says there has been one bright spot so far, as a pay cheque has been given out. She mentions that throughout the entire process they have seen lots of people stand behind them. She talked about support that was shown at a press conference before the doors closed.
"We have had lots of community support. There were a few people telling us we were foolish, and we were basically stupid for working for free, but we weren't there for the company, we were there for the residents."
Cheryl said staff has been promised the rest of their pay by tomorrow. She mentions the media has been a huge help in getting the story into the public eye.
"If we don't hear from them, we will certainly let the press know again. I really appreciate the radio stations, the newspapers, and TV stations."
Heart FM reached out for comment from the owner, which was went unanswered.
