Stephanie Porter and Sara Cuthbert will have their artwork featured in the Art Gallery of Ontario next month.
WOODSTOCK - Two local artists will have their work featured in the Art Gallery of Ontario, for the Portraits of Resilience exhibition.
Stephanie Porter and Sara Cuthbert submitted their artwork to the gallery and were accepted to the upcoming exhibition.
Both artists are also employees at the Woodstock Art Gallery, Porter is the head of education and Cuthbert is the gallery operations coordinator at the WAG.
Porter explains what it means to her to have her work featured at the Art Gallery of Ontario.
"I mean this is a proud moment for us to share as artists, Sara and I as professionals and for our community as well, so yeah, I am pretty excited."
Cuthbert says it is an honour to have their work included in the exhibition.
"It is certainly exciting, because being an artist, versus viewing art can sometimes have a different feeling, when you are viewing art on display, especially as cultural workers, we know how much work went into doing that, as an artist, not to mention to mention as cultural workers behind the scenes, getting the work onto the wall and writing about them and so on. So just understanding the amount of work behind our work hanging behind our work hanging in the AGO is phenomenal, it is a great feeling."
You can view their artwork online now and they will have it displayed inside the Art Gallery of Ontario in April, 2022. The website offers a search feature where you can search out their pieces and a brief description as well.
