It's another example of the continuing crackdown by police on double doctoring and the illegal trade of prescription pills. A year long investigation by OPP has culminated in the arrests of 8 people, who've been slapped with a total of 71 charges. Those charges include double doctoring, impersonation and uttering forged documents. Double doctoring is the act of getting prescriptions filled out by multiple doctors. Caught up in the bust are 58-year-old Peter Buchanan and 34-year-old Henry Schmit of Oxford County. Others charged include residents from London, Stratford and Huron County. They were allegedly getting scripts filled out for Oxycontin and other painkillers, which police believe were being sold on the black market. Police say assisting in the investigation were local pharmacies, physicians, and the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.
