Elgin County's total number of cases stands at 50 after two new cases were reported, along with four recoveries. Meanwhile, there are eight cases overall in Oxford County after no new cases were reported today.
OXFORD/ELGIN/ST.THOMAS - Southwestern Public Health is reporting two new cases of COVID-19 today in St.Thomas.
Elgin and St.Thomas also had four recoveries, bringing their total number of cases to 50. There were no new cases to report in Oxford County and as a result there are eight cases overall.
The health unit has had 220 cumulative cases to date with 157 resolved cases and five deaths. Since the pandemic began ther ehave also been four institutional outbreaks. The most recent outbreak occurred at Terrace Lodge in Aylmer on July 31st involving one staff member. It is considered active and the three previous outbreaks have since been resolved.
SWPH has tested 19,636 people so far and they have received 19,361 tests with 19,141 of them coming back negative.
