Habitat for Humanity Heartland is accepting applications for two new homes in Drumbo.
DRUMBO - Habitat for Humanity Heartland plans to build two new homes in Drumbo.
President Brian Elliot says they're hoping construction can start this Spring.
"We are really excited to announce we will be building a new semi detached home in Drumbo, starting this Spring and we are currently looking for families who can go into these two affordable housing units. Both of them will be built to Universal designs and we are excited that it will be our first build in Drumbo."
Elliot says families can apply now.
"To qualify for a Habitat Home, our habitat families must fall into a income guideline with a minimum income of $33,600 per year and no more of a household maximum of $64,500 per year. They must be able to complete 500 hours of volunteer service and they get a geared to income mortgage payment, that allows them to live in a home that is going to provide strength, stability and self reliance. We really believe that Habitat for Humanity is about a hand up and not a hand out."
Elliot adds they want to thank the County of Oxford for being a great partner with Habitat for several years and helping to assist in getting this project off the ground. You can find more information on how to apply online here.
