Both drivers are scheduled to appear in Woodstock Court at a later date.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford OPP has laid charges in two separate impaired driving incidents.
The first incident occurred at 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
Police were notified by traffic complaints that a driver was impaired on highway 401 in South-West Oxford. They were able to quickly locate the vehicle, and immediately took him into custody.
The 55-year-old driver from Leamington was charged with:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired with a BAC over 80
- Flight from a Peace Officer
The second incident happened around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday in Zorra Township.
Police stopped a vehicle on Road 68 after it appeared the driver was driving impaired. An approved screening device was used on site, and the driver was also taken into custody for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old Paris resident was charged with:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired with a BAC over 80
- Drive with improper headlights
- Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
Both drivers are scheduled to appear in Woodstock Court at a later date.
