Woodstock Mayor Jerry Acchione explains. "They saw a woman trying to get into the house and get her cats, apparently, and they were able to keep her calm and separate while the fire department showed up. They did a phenomenal job."
Mayor Acchione was a part of the presentation at the Woodstock Fire Department. "At a moment of crisis, they demonstrated the highest values of citizenship. Compassion, bravery, a deep sense of responsibility to others, they simply are an inspiration to our entire community, and it really was honour to recognize them."
