The Ontario Innovation Expo will get underway next Thursday and the virtual event is going to feature 100 different exhibitors, including Udderly Ridiculous.
BRIGHT - An Oxford County business will be reappearing at the Ontario Innovation Expo which is returning next Thursday and will be the virtual event of the year.
The Ontario Innovation Expo is an event where 100 different exhibitors come together from all over the world to display their innovations and impacts on the community.
Udderly Ridiculous is a company based in Bright and they actually won the award for the most engaging business in 2019. They will be one of the 100 exhibitors at the Innovative Expo this year.
Founder Cheryl Haskett comments on what makes Udderly Ridiculous innovative.
"We actually make ice cream out of goat milk instead of cow milk and that allows us to make real ice cream that's still creamy but people who have lactose sensitivities and casein sensitivities can digest it without any challenges. We also work with a lot of local producers, we use things like real wine, Ontario craft beer, Ontario grown lavender."
Other than goat ice cream Udderly Ridiculous offers many different interactive activities including goat yoga, goat cuddle sessions, alpaca picnics, alpaca walks and a 2 and a half hour experience learning about food production.
Haskett explains more about goat yoga and the other interactive aspects of her business.
"When you get in the downward dog position they will jump on your back and they will balance with you on that, and we have some of our goats who balance with you to your next pose. Some of them will come and just sit and cuddle with you, some of them really like to come and just do the poses basically on you. We do require pre-booking, we do have a certified yoga teacher that teaches that. It's for sixteen years and up but for families we have goat recess or goat cuddling, those are intimate experiences with the goats where they get to play with them, they get to take them through agility training. So there is options for families but there's also options for adults. We do alpaca picnics which are coming to a close at the end of this month but we'll restart those again in the spring. We do alpaca walks through the farm field, we do an immersive two and a half hour experience learning about food production, learning about agriculture and getting to experience all of the animals."
You can see Cheryl and 99 other innovators on October 21st at the Expo and you can learn more about Udderly Ridiculous online here.
