CN Rail has implemented an operational contingency plan after 750 unionized signal and communications workers began strike action on Saturday.
CANADA - About 750 unionized CN Railway workers hit the picket lines over the weekend.
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers says they submitted a 72-hour strike notice last Wednesday, which put the signal and communications workers in a legal strike position Saturday morning.
A spokesperson for CN Rail says an operational contingency plan has been implemented in order to keep everything running.
The labour dispute is centered around wages and benefits.
