United Way Day of Caring a Huge Success

You could feel the #LocalLove in Oxford County yesterday for the Day of Caring. (Article includes 13 photos from the different projects, throughout Oxford)

The United Way Oxford hosted the Day of Caring yesterday and it was day filled of community support and amazing acts of kindness across the County.

One goal the organization had was to raise enough funds to deliver 100 meals to people in need in our community and help support 15 local students with back to school supplies. They are thrilled to announced, they reached that school, with the meals delivered and the supplies on there way. 

Courtesy of the UWO Facebook page, here is a list of all the amazing projects that happened on Thursday:

- The United Way Oxford Team spent the day delivering flowers, cleaning up litter and writing positive messages using chalk all across the community.

- The team at MW&Co showed their love with some signage.  

- d'Lish in Tillsonburg offered free coffee and sold United Way Pop sockets to help raise some funds. 

- Good Beginnings hosted a food drive. 

- Jenny at Social Stationery - Branding Your Life, provided some much needed meals to people in need in our community!

- The Oxford County Community Health Centre - OCCHC Transition House team brightened up their gardens in spirit of United Way Oxford Day of Caring 2021!

- The Woodstock Police Service showed their support by collecting food, baby and personal hygiene officers. The Senior Officer Association was also able to provide 10 meals to people in need, and funds from the Dress Down Days will be able to provide back to school supplies for 3 students returning to class in the fall. 

- The team at Vuteq Canada Inc. collected essential items as well as cash donations to be used to support organizations across Oxford County. 

- Youth volunteers over at LEADS Employment Services made some amazing cards as a way to show their #LocalLove to seniors in our community for Day of Caring!

- The Women's Employment Resource Centre battled the rain to host a snack food donation drive thru at the 104.7 Heart FM parking lot. It was an incredible turnout. So many generous people stepping up to provide snacks to our local youth. 


- Woodstock West Dental hosted a baby essentials drive. 


- The Libro Credit Union showed there local love by supplying cookies and coffee to the hard working staff at the vaccination clinic in Woodstock.
