United Way Oxford is currently sitting at 92% of their fundraising goal for their current campaign as they enter the final push.
WOODSTOCK - The United Way of Oxford County is making a final push to reach their fundraising goal this year.
Executive Director Kelly Gilson says they are really close to reaching their $1.2 million dollar goal.
"We are currently sitting at 92% of our goal, so we are certainly close but our efforts now over the next 4 to 6 weeks is to see we can close that gap a bit and reach our goal."
Gilson adds the United Way helps to fund several programs in Oxford County.
"Funds raised through our annual campaign make a lasting difference in our community. They ensure access to a range of targeted programs that build connections and develop local solutions, ultimately providing opportunities for brighter futures. These funds allow us to invest in the most innovative, effective and measurable programs in Oxford County that help to meet basic needs, strengthen employment readiness, support mental health and addictions, empower people and nurture our children & youth."
Campaign Chair Leslie Farrell is hopeful they will be able to raise the money before the end of the campaign.
"As a Member of both the Board of Directors and the Community Impact Council, I've learned a lot about the needs in our community. It's what inspired me to sign on as Campaign Chair. Together, we can create a community that we are proud to call home. I encourage everyone to take an active role by getting involved. Every dollar makes a difference."
Farrell says they are happy with the progress so far.
"We are so thankful for the generosity we've received thus far in the campaign. We've experienced many successes that will be celebrated with our community including the fruition of the Vollmershausen Leadership Challenge Grant, many outstanding workplace initiatives and record attendance at a few of our signature events. With less than 60 days remaining in the campaign and with the help of our community, I remain optimistic that we will reach goal."
